Christiano Ronaldo Signs A Mega Deal With Al Nassr.
Portugal’s Christiano Ronaldo has joined Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr – a mega deal worth $200 Million – the deal that runs until 2025.
The five-time Ballon D’or winner has been without a club after leaving Manchester United following a controversial interview in November where he criticised the club.
According to reports in Saudi Arabia, the five-time Champions League winner is guaranteed to be paid $95 Million per year as on-field salary while the commercial deals, endorsements and add-ons take it up to $200 Million – the biggest ever in the Sport.
The former Real Madrid Star says he is “eager to experience a new football league in a different country “
“I am fortunate that I have won everything I set out to win in European Football and feel now that this is the right moment to share my experience in Asia”, he added.
The nine-time champions of the Saudi Pro League describe the deal as “history in the making”.
The club said it would ” inspire our league, nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves”.
Ronaldo will have to serve a two-game ban after knocking a phone out of an Everton fan’s hand after United’s defeat to Everton in April.
The ban will affect him at the domestic level with any new club in England or abroad – and will not affect International Club football like the Champions League.
Ronaldo made history as he became the only player to score in five different World Cup finals.
