Draughts African Championship: Cameroon Crown Champions For The Second Time In A Row

The 2021 Draughts (Draft) African Championship was hosted in the nation’s capital Yaounde. The tournament that brought together seven African federations started on the 3rd November 2021 to the 9th November 2021 saw Cameroon emerge champions for the 4th time consecutively. 

Cameroon is said to have carried up the goals behind the net in a loud voice at the 2021 African Draft championship with talisman Ndjofang, Jean-Marc giving team Cameroon its 4th crown in the last four editions.

Team Cameroon dominated the entire tournament with teams A and B putting up a fine performance to lift the flag high on homes soil.

Ndjofang, Jean-Marc from team Cameroon was awarded International Grand Mater (GMI) after his excellent performance. Atse N’cho Joel  from ivory coast was awarded as the second, and Samb Ndiaga awarded as the third while Cameroon Kouogueu Kouomou, Leopold was the fourth

Overall performance Cameroon was crown champions for the fourth time with 12 points, Ivory Coast  second with 10 points  Senegal who hosted the last edition in 2018 was third with 9 points and Congo with 7 points at the fourth position

Meantime, for the first time, Senegal has gone back home after a backlash with Congo, while Cameroon ranked as the most favorite at the Championships tournament

Agreeing with teammates, 2016 Africa’s first Championship and 1992 second place winner Diaga Samb moved ahead with to a seven consecutive draw against Cameroon’s Team, with the Damist Lions finishing with 7 points behind the Cameroon group A with ( 12 ) points, five wins and 2 draws.

In a high team spirit from Cameroons group A, the competitive game has been scheduled to be played, come Tuesday 16th November 2021, given an open floor for Senegal to obtain a medal at the first edition of the African Blitz Championship.

Cameroon and Ivory Coast have thereby qualified for the Draught World Cup (Polish Open) to be hosted in Poland from December 12 to December 19, 2021, and the winner will benefit the sum of 10,000 euros ( 6,559,600 Fcfa)

1st Position 3,000,000 FCFA,

2nd Place   2,000,000 FCFA,

3rth Place 1,500,000 FCFA

4th Place 1,000,000 FCFA.
