Fako United Harvest First South West Regional Championship Point.

Newly promoted South West Regional championship side Fako United harvested their first point in their debut campaign of the Region’s top-tier championship following a 1-1 draw with rivals Prisons FC of Buea on Saturday.

Ekwo Mukete Joseph scored a stoppage-time penalty to seal a point for the Njoku Boys at the Molyko Omnisport Stadium. The Home Boys took the lead in the first half following a powerful header from Felix Mbonde.

Fako United now have one point in two games – while Prisons have one point in one games.

Coach Alexandra Bertrand Soppo says “ there are no negative aspects – just positive because our boys gave it all to win the game but we lost many opportunities and we are going to work on that in the next training session”

“we will play the mini interpools”, he added.

Meanwhile, Prisons FC coach Forsah Eric says he is happy with the result despite the draw.

” We needed to kick start the season with a win but we had a draw and is ok for us, we are happy with it”

Concerning the objectives of the club, coach Forsah Eric says“The objectives are very clear, we want to compete in the league, we want to fight and we believe we have what it takes to emerge as champions.
