FIFA Rankings: Indomitable Lionesses Maintain Third Spot In Africa.

Published on

Cameroon’s indomitable lionesses will end the year in the third spot in Africa following the FIFA ranking for December.

The four-time WAFCON finalists now occupy the 58th position in the World. Cameroon had dropped from second to third in the continent after a disappointing African Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco that prevented them from the direct World Cup qualification.

However, they still have a chance to qualify for the World Cup in New Zealand and Australia as they will participate in the intercontinental playoffs in March next year.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Super Falcons are the top ranked team in the Continent and are 45th in the World. Current African champions – South Africa are second and 54th in the World.
