FIFA WC Qatar, 2022: Denmark and Tunisia Share The Spoils.
Africa harvests its first point of the FIFA World Cup after Tunisia held Denmark in a virgin draw at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.
The Carthage Eagles looked inferior going into the encounter but they proved tough against the Danes in their Group D opener.
Tunisia who qualified as the Best loser during the AFCON round of 16, were a more determined side against this premier league dominated side.
Both sides had goals ruled out for offside, while Denmark’s Andreas Cornelius missed from a yard.
Referee Cesar Ramos was forced at the fifth minute of stoppage time to check on the monitor for a potential penalty but stood firm to his original decision.
After that disappointing performance from Tunisia in the AFCON, there was no room for mistakes this time arround as they made the European nation uncomfortable.
Although Denmark tried to maintain their superiority complex in the game – with series of penalty checks – goals disallowed, referee Cesar Ramos was up to the task to maintain a balance game.
Denmark take on France in their next game on Saturday, while Tunisia take on Australia.
