Hansi Flick To Lead Germany Till Euro 2024 Despite WC Disappointment

Published on

Hansi Flick, 57, has been maintained as head coach of the German National Football team despite Germany’s early exit at this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

This was in a statement issued by the German Football Association(DFB) on Wednesday, during a crisis meeting – stating that the 57-year-old will be maintained till  EURO 2024.

We have full confidence in Hansi Flick that he will master this challenge together, with his team’, Bernd Neuendorf, President of DFB, said in a crisis meeting with flick.

The decision further allows Flick to seek redemption when Germany hosts the EUROS in 2024.

” My coaching team and I are optimistic about the European Championship in our own country, ‘Flick said

We as a team can achieve much more than we should in Qatar. We missed a great opportunity there,’ he added.

” We will learn our lessons from this.

Flick took over as Germany coach from former Mentor Joachim Loew after the European Championship in 2021.

He previously served as deputy to Loew during Germany’s world cup triumph in 2014.

Germany crashed out of the World Cup at the group stage of the World Cup after just four points in three games and this is the second straight World Cup that Germany has failed to progress out of their group.

Hansi Flick has managed 19 international matches for Germany – winning 11, six draws and two defeats – including the painful defeat to Japan in Qatar.
