It’s Final Time! Cameroon Veterans’ Cup Returns to PAPOSY This Saturday

Published on

This is a match between two of Cameroon’s most respected veteran volleyball outfits, with the Cameroon Cup on the line.

For the second year running, it’s MINKOAMEYOS against SCL in the men’s veterans’ final — the same two teams, the same trophy, but this time, the stakes feel a little different. SCL walked away with the title in 2025, and they’ll be out to prove it wasn’t a one-off. Minkoameyos, on the other hand, have looked sharper with every outing this season, and by most accounts, they’re peaking at exactly the right moment.

The two sides already had a taste of what’s to come during the group stage, in a match that, by all accounts, had the crowd at the SED pitch on its feet. Minkoameyos came out on top that day, taking it 2-0, and there’s a sense that they’ll be looking to pick up right where they left off. For SCL, it’s a chance to settle the score – and for Minkoameyos, it’s about finishing what they started last weekend.

It won’t just be the men taking centre stage, either. The women’s veterans final rounds off what’s been a long and eventful season for the national veterans commission, with PHOENIX and ÉTOILES DORÉES opening proceedings. Don’t be fooled by the “curtain-raiser” tag — both sides have real quality, and this one could easily steal the show in its own right.

So, the two finals that kick off at 4pm will be a chance to watch some of Cameroonian volleyball’s most familiar faces go at it one more time, for pride as much as silverware.
