Martin Nkabyo Steps Down As Coach Of YOSA.
Yong Sports Academy head coach – Martin Nkabyo has parted ways with the club following the club’s recent poor form in the elite one championship.
The club has won just two of their last 13 outings in the league – recording five draws and six defeats in the process. This lives the club on position number nine with 23 points in 18 league matches this season.
With this poor form – provoked by injuries and players unavailability – head coach Nkabyo Martin announced his resignation as reported by Kick442.com on Friday.
“i’ve decided to step down from my functions as the head trainer of YOSA because I think it’s important for the club to forge ahead, I think it’s important for these young lads to enjoy a more exciting end of season”.
“it’s been three football seasons of some exciting, memorable moments with three different groups of young players, talented footballers from around the country… I’ve enjoyed working with these young men and it’s been a very enriching experience… But like every sweet story, it has to come to an end someday… I think it’s time for these young men to listen to some other voice, learn some new things, enrich their career and experience with new tactical ideas..” The words of Nkabyo Martin as extracted by kick442
The former National Polytechnic, PWD Bamenda and Tiko United trainer piloted the club for three seasons – leading the club to sixth in the 2019/20 season, and fourth in the 2020/21 season.
The club will have to be without their gaffer on Sunday – as they take Panthere of Nde in their next elite one fixture.
