Seventeen Teams, Two Venues, One Trophy: Cameroon’s Volleyball Cup Qualifiers Get Under Way This Weekend

Published on

The build-up to the Cameroon Volleyball Cup is finally here. From Friday 15 to Sunday 17 May 2026, two venues in Yaoundé, the SED Complex and the Mfandena Multisports Gymnasium, will host the qualifying rounds that decide which clubs earn the right to compete for the country’s most coveted domestic prize. Seventeen teams in total, men and women, three days of volleyball. It promises to be a proper weekend of sport.
The Women’s Draw: Three Groups, Nine Contenders

On the women’s side, nine clubs have been split into three groups of three, with matches beginning at 8am on Friday at the SED Complex.
Group A brings together Litto Team Volleyball, Fatgo’o Volleyball and Dream Sports Académie. Group B features Mayo Kani Evolution, Nyong et Kellé Volleyball and Trinity Volleyball. Group C lines up Anna Mèches Volleyball against Forces Armées et Police and Mbalmayo Volleyball.
The opening day fixtures give a good sense of what is coming. Nyong et Kellé face Trinity in Group B, Litto Team take on Fatgo’o in Group A, and in Group C, Anna Mèches meet Forces Armées et Police. A second wave of matches follows, with Trinity back on court against Mayo Kani Evolution, Dream Sports Académie squaring up against Litto Team, and Mbalmayo facing Anna Mèches to round out the group stage action.
Nine clubs, plenty of ambition, and only the best will advance. The competition inside each group looks tight, and honestly, any of those nine sides could spring a result that changes the shape of the draw entirely.
The Men’s Qualifying: Eight Clubs Across Two Pools

The men’s competition runs across two pools of four, with matches held at the Mfandena Gymnasium, also kicking off at 8am on the Friday.
Pool A contains Litto Team Volleyball, Forces Armées et Police, Dream Sports Académie and Club Efoulan Volleyball. Pool B is made up of Port Autonome de Douala, Cameroon Sport Volleyball, Dynamic de Douala and Shekinna Sports Académie.

The fixtures are arranged to give every team two group stage matches before the later rounds take shape. On the opening day, Litto Team faces Club Efoulan in Pool A, while Port Autonome de Douala meets Shekinna Sports Académie in Pool B. Forces Armées et Police then take on Dream Sports Académie, and Cameroon Sport Volleyball faces Dynamic de Douala. The second round of pool matches sees Club Efoulan go up against Dream Sports Académie, Shekinna Sports Académie meet Dynamic de Douala, Litto Team face Forces Armées et Police, and Port Autonome de Douala close out the pool stage against Cameroon Sport Volleyball.

The Douala clubs arriving in the capital will be looking to make a statement. Port Autonome de Douala, in particular tend to travel with intent, and Dynamic de Douala are rarely short of quality. Whether the Yaoundé-based sides can hold their ground at home will be one of the more interesting questions the weekend raises.
