Cameroon International, Vincent Aboubakar could be ruled out of the World Cup qualifiers after sustaining an injury in Besiktas 1-3 defeat to Bodo Glimt in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.

Vincent Aboubakar limped off the pitch in the 84th minute of their Conference League match against the Norwegian side.

According to Besiktas, the player suffered a muscle strain injury which could see the player ruled out of action for close to three weeks. There are also reports that the player suffered additional complications of internal bleeding which might also extend his recovery time.

This could be a major blow for Rigobert Song as the gaffer will now be looking forward to throwing his eggs in the baskets of Bryan Mbuemo, Faris Moumbagna, Karl Toko and Clinton Njie to deliver the goods against Mauritius and Libya.

The former Porto forward reached a milestone in his international career against Russia, as he became the fourth Cameroon player to hit century games for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon after Rigobert Song, Samuel Eto, and Geremi Njitap.

Vincent Aboubakar has netted 40 times for Cameroon in 100 CAPS and has scored four league goals plus one assist in nine league matches this season for Besiktas.
