FIFA Approves 26-man Squads For Qatar 2022 World Cup.

FIFA has approved 26-man squads for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The move is in line with recent national competitions and is an expansion of the 23-man squads that had been used before the coronavirus pandemic.

The deadline for all 32 participating countries to submit their final squads is 20 October – 30 days before the opening game between Senegal and the Netherlands at the Al Thumama Stadium.

The world football  governing body also said up to 15 substitutes can be named for a game, meaning no player misses out.

FIFA also said there will be no more than 26 people – up to 15 substitutes and 11 team officials, of which one must be the team doctor – will be allowed to sit on the bench.

This move could increase competition in the lion’s den, especially after the bitter outing of the fecafoot boss, Samuel Eto’o who told the players that no one is guaranteed a place in the team.

Cameroon open their World Cup campaign against Switzerland on November 24, 2022,  at the Al Wakrah Sports Complex.
