Gabriel Zabo, the coach of the indomitable lionesses has released a list of 26 players to represent Cameroon at the upcoming 2022 African Women Cup of nations hosted by Morocco.
6 amongst the 26 players hail from the local top flight championship and these players of the Guinness Super league are not just going to play figurative roles; they are actively challenging the so called “professionals”.
ALANG AYANGMA (FC Ebolowa)
Ayangma replaced Bawou ange during the first friendly against Senegal and played the entire game in the second game. She stands a chance of featuring as a first choice in front of Bawou Ange who’s the natural number One goalkeeper.
REGINE ENYEGUE (Canon Filles) is one of the surprises who made her entry in the final list that saw 2 out of 3 goalkeepers coming from the local championship.
DOUDOU OUSMANOU (Amazones FAP)
She has been one of the revelations of the 1st phase of the Guinness Super League. She plays as left back and can equally double as a defensive midfielder. Her smartness, composure, ease in recovering balls and relaunching them upfront didn’t pass unotice to the eyes of coach Gabriel Zabo.
MONIQUE NGOCK (Eclair FF de Sa’a)
The vice capitain and midfielder is part of the final list to represent Cameroon at the upcoming AWCON. She was one of the satisfactions of the 2-2 draw against Senegal in the double friendly played at the Douala Reunification stadium. Her selection doesn’t seem a surprise to fans and observers of the Guinness Super league. She shows the lionness’s fighting spirit and her ressiliance and good reading of the game earned her a comfortable seat amongst the 26.
KAMENI FLORA (Louves MINPROFF)
The current best goal scorer of the Guinness Super League with 14 goals in 11 games has been having a taste of the national team for a few game now and she’s expected to score more goals duringt he AWCON in Morocco.
KEVINE OSSOL (AWA FF)

AWA FF has been making headlines due to its offensive strength composed of Lamine Mana (11 goals), Brenda Tabe (9 goals), Farida Maicha and Kevine Ossol who has scored 4 goals and 4 assists in 11 games. OSSOL’s speed and technical prouse will be an asset for coach Gabriel Zabo as she’s one of the few who can provoke and takes intiatives upfront.
Cameroon will be facing Tunisia, Zambia and Togo at the AFCON.
