CAMEROONIAN CLUBS SET SIGHTS ON GLORY AT AFRICAN VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Litto Team Joins Camerounsport in Libya as Cameroon’s Hopes Rise at Misrata 2025

After Camerounsport’s arrival, Litto Team has touched down in Libya to represent Cameroon at the 2025 African Men’s Volleyball Club Championship. Far from being mere participants, these Cameroonian powerhouses aim to challenge Africa’s volleyball elite at the continental showcase ending April 30.

The Littoral region-based squad understands the magnitude of the challenge ahead but remains focused on competing for the prestigious trophy. With a strong determination to surpass the expectations placed upon them, Litto Team has been preparing intensively for months for this continental showdown.

“We’re not here for a Pierre de Coubertin-style participation or just a health walk,” declared the team’s captain upon arrival at Tripoli International Airport. “Our ambition is to challenge the established hierarchy and show what Cameroonian volleyball is capable of on the continental stage.”

The Fecavolley (Cameroon Volleyball Federation) has provided robust support to ensure their representatives arrive well-prepared. Training camps, friendly matches against quality opposition, and specialized coaching sessions have all been part of the preparation process to give the Cameroonian clubs the best chance of success.

With technical meetings underway in Misrata, volleyball enthusiasts across Cameroon eagerly await performances worthy of these teams’ reputations. The delegation has received a warm welcome from the local organizing committee in Misrata, a significant Libyan city located approximately 200 kilometers east of Tripoli with a population of around 400,000 residents.

As the third-largest city in Libya, Misrata provides an impressive backdrop for this prestigious tournament. The local facilities have been upgraded specifically for this continental championship, with state-of-the-art courts and accommodation for all participating teams.

The Cameroonian contingent, which also includes Port Autonome de Douala (PAD), enters the tournament with high expectations from fans back home. All three clubs have dominated domestic competitions in recent years, but translating that success to the continental level represents a significant challenge they’re eager to overcome.

Tournament officials have confirmed that all matches will be broadcast live across Africa, giving fans across the continent the opportunity to witness what promises to be an exciting display of African volleyball talent. With teams from North, East, West, and Central Africa competing, the championship truly represents the best the continent has to offer.
