Andre Onana Quits International Football.

Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana has announced his retirement from international football barely a month after he was sent packing by Rigobert Song during the World Cup expedition.

Onana, 26, was sent packing from the National team last month after a disagreement with the head coach Rigobert Song over his style of play.

Reports say the former Ajax keeper proposed a style of passing that suits the modern-day goalkeeper but the head coach wasn’t ready to take any risk.

Although no specific reason could be accounted for his fallout with the coach, the Football Federation said at a time that he was suspended for disciplinary reasons.

The Inter Milan shot-stopper posted on his Twitter page on Friday to announce his retirement from international football.

“Story with the Cameroonian National team has come to an end”

“Players come and go, names are fleeting, but Cameroon comes before any player or person”, Onana said in a statement posted on his Twitter page.

Andre Onana won a total of 34 caps for the Indomitable lions of Cameroon – representing the Five-time African champions in two AFCONs and one FIFA World Cup.
