Litto dominated the playoffs at Japoma Sports Complex to become national champions
Litto team has won the Cameroon women’s volleyball championship after a strong performance during the playoffs held on May 24th and 25th, 2025 at the Japoma Sports Complex in Douala.
The championship race proved to be smooth sailing for Litto team. They started by defeating FAP with a clean 3-0 victory, then overcame Nyong et Kelle 3-1 in their second match. The final showdown came against their biggest rivals, Mayo Kani, where Litto secured the title with a 3-1 victory (25-17, 25-13, 17-25, 25-18).
Mayo Kani finished as runners-up after winning their first two matches but falling short in the decisive final game against Litto. Despite the loss, both teams showed they belong at the top of Cameroon volleyball.
Experience from Africa Pays Off
The recent African volleyball club championship in Abuja, Nigeria seems to have helped both teams. Their experience at the continental level clearly boosted their performance during these playoffs. Both Litto and Mayo Kani controlled the tournament from start to finish and delivered an exciting final match that kept fans on their feet.

Saturday, May 24th:
- Mayo Kani beat Nyong et Kelle 3-1 (25-19, 25-9, 19-25, 25-14)
- Litto Team defeated Forces Armees et Police 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-13)
- Litto Team beat Nyong et Kelle 3-1 (25-13, 25-10, 19-25, 25-10)
- Mayo Kani swept Forces Armées et Police 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-16)
Sunday, May 25th:
- 8:00 AM: Nyong et Kelle edged Forces Armées et Police 3-2 (25-20, 25-21, 23-25, 24-26, 15-11)
- 10:00 AM: Litto Team beat Mayo Kani 3-1 (25-17, 25-13, 17-25, 25-18) to win the championship
This victory marks another successful season for Litto team and confirms their place as the top women’s volleyball team in Cameroon. The championship also showed the country’s growing strength in volleyball, with all four teams putting up competitive matches throughout the weekend.
