Former Defense Spokesperson Takes Helm of Key Volleyball Commission in Cameroon

The Cameroon Volleyball Federation (FECAVOLLEY) has appointed retired Colonel Didier Badjeck to lead its newly established National Homologation and Disciplinary Commission to strengthen its administrative framework. The appointment was made official through a decision signed by Federation President Bello Bourdanne on February 7, 2025. (DECISION N°001/FECAVOLLEY/PDT of 07th February 2025)

Colonel Badjeck, who previously served as the head of FECAVOLLEY’s Strategy and Planning Commission, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His impressive background includes 32 years of service in the Cameroonian military, where he notably held the position of Head of Communications at the Ministry of Defense.

The appointment comes at a crucial time as FECAVOLLEY continues its push toward improved management and organizational excellence. Badjeck’s academic credentials, including a PhD earned with high honors, coupled with his extensive strategic communication experience, position him well for this challenging role.

Responding to his appointment on one of FECAVOLLEY’s social media platforms, Badjeck expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him. “I accept this role with honour and promise to bring equity, justice, and rigour to this sensitive commission,” he stated. “I pray that our sport, which has brought many laurels to our country, continues to progress.”

The commission’s leadership team also includes Serge Audrey Edongo Bela as Vice-Chairperson and André Jean Jacques Mboumteke Essomey as Rapporteur. Other members appointed to the commission are Marie Andrée Afane, Marthe Clémence Eyike, and Geneviève Nounkam.

Badjeck has already indicated his intention to convene a working meeting after reviewing the commission’s terms of reference and specific instructions from the President. This appointment marks another step in FECAVOLLEY’s ongoing efforts to enhance its organizational structure and effectiveness in managing volleyball affairs in Cameroon.
