Bello Bourdanne Secures Second Term at Cameroon Volleyball Helm

The Cameroonian volleyball community has once again placed its faith in Bello Bourdanne, entrusting him with another mandate to steer the federation forward.

First elected in January 2023 on a platform of reconciliation, Bourdanne has now been granted a fresh mandate to deliver what he’s calling a new deal for the sport. The election results left little room for doubt about his standing within the volleyball family.

The vote, held at the headquarters of the Economic and Social Council in Yaoundé’s Dragage administrative district, saw Bourdanne secure an emphatic 61 votes from the 68 valid ballots cast. It was a resounding endorsement of his first term and the direction he’s set for Cameroonian volleyball.

The proceedings were conducted under the watchful eyes of two special envoys from the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB). Liberian Mr Moiffie Kanneh, who chairs the CAVB’s legal commission, and Zimbabwean Mr Ringisai Kudzanai Hillario Mapondera, a member of the same commission, oversaw the electoral process to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Joining Bourdanne in the leadership team are some familiar and new faces. Dr Elias Matip swept the vote for First Vice-President with a unanimous 68 votes, whilst Dr Deris Meh claimed the Secretary General position with 66 votes. The Financial Department will be headed by Bebey Moudiki, who also garnered 66 votes.

Two key appointments rounded out the core executive: Bilong Edima Pauline Jacky takes up the role of Deputy Secretary General, whilst L’Or Victoire Pauline Ngon Ntame épouse Fotso has been named Deputy Head of the Financial Department.

As Bourdanne embarks on this second chapter, the volleyball fraternity will be watching closely to see how his new deal unfolds.
