From 2nd to 12th August 2025, Yaounde will be the centre of African volleyball as seven of Africa’s brightest young volleyball talented nations—Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Morocco, Senegal, and hosts Cameroon—prepare to clash in the CAVB U-20 Women’s African Volleyball Championship.
Cameroon’s All-Hands-On-Deck Preparations
If there’s one word that captures the vibe in Yaoundé right now, it’s hustle. With the countdown in full swing, the Local Organising Committee (LOC), led by Sports Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, is burning the midnight oil to ensure everything goes off without a hitch. From logistics to security, every little detail is being scrutinized—especially after Cameroon’s impressive hosting of the 2023 Senior Women’s African Championship, which has set the bar incredibly high. Volunteers and staff are truly “mouiller le maillot”—putting in the sweat and effort to make it all happen.
Fecavolley’s Precision Play: No Room for Error
The Cameroon Volleyball Federation, known as Fecavolley and headed by president Bello Bourdanne, is truly going above and beyond. They’re tackling everything from transport and accommodation to marketing—if it’s part of the game, they’re on it. They’re meticulously smoothing out even the tiniest bumps in the road, making sure that both teams and fans enjoy nothing less than a top-notch experience.
But what about the home team?
