Elite One Preview: Eding VS Canon, Stats & Figures.

Two of last season’s top-four clashes in  match day three of the ongoing MTN Elite one football championship this Saturday, October, 29 at the Ngoa Ekelle Stadium at 4 pm.

Both Eding and Canon finished second and third respectively last term and will be hoping to go one step closer in clinching the title this time around.

Recent Form.

  • Eding has lost just one of their last five matches in the league and that was against Coton in the Play-Off Final.
  • Canon has lost one of their last five matches in the league with two draws and two wins.
  • Eding has never lost a home game in their last five home matches (three draws and two wins).
  • Meanwhile, Canon has also lost just one of their last five away games in the league (two wins and two draws)

Both sides have met six times in the league with Eding recording three wins, two draws and one defeat.

Players To Watch.

Intermediate lions captain Yves Mokoko who also doubles as captain of Canon will be key to the Canon defence as he faces his former employers. Also, former YOSA midfielder Ngong Neville will be key in the midfield of Canon and former Coton Sports forward Tombi Alemi will help burst the attack of the ten-time Cameroon Champs.


For Eding, the likes of Prince Junior Sime who scored a brace against Avion on Matchday one will be a trait to the Canon defense.

Harrison Djonkep will be another asset for the 2017 elite one champions. He has been nominated for the young player award of the year which takes place tomorrow October 29, 2022.
