THE CAMEROON – NIGERIA FRIENDSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT will take place from the 16th to the 21st of May 2023 at the Yaounde Golf Club course.
As it names indicate, the Nigerian Golf Federation will take part in this event with the legendary IBB International Golf and Country Club of Abuja as a special guest.This competition is in line with its international cooperation program and aims to develop strong relations with this brotherly country through the practice of golf.
Cameroon and Nigeria Teams will meet at the Yaoundé Golf Club on May 18, 19 and 20, 2023 as part of a friendly golf competition to highlight social, cultural, sporting and fraternal ties that bind the two nations, in a matchplay format. similar to the « Ryder Cup » formula
The competition proper kick soff on Thursday May 18th 2023 with Doubles match play in a “four-ball” format to set the tone. The two Cameroonians and the two Nigerians play each their ball. Palyers do not accumulate strockes. The player with the highest score loses the hole for his team.
Then come Friday with its foursome game format.The two players of the same team
alternately play the same ball until the end of the hole. Player 1 of the team will start the game on the even holes and player 2 of the same team on the odd hole.
On Saturday May 20, 2023, the Simple match play format will be applied.
The two players compete hole by hole until the end of the match. All 18 holes must be played by all players.

5:00 p.m. : Return to the hotel.
19:30 p.m. : Welcome dinner offered by the Cameroonian Golf
Federation to the sister delegation from Nigeria
