Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar leads the attack of the IFFHS men’s CAF team of the year 2022.
The 30-year-old forward scored eight goals in AFCON 2022 – which earned the Golden Boot Award and scored two goals in the just-ended FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
His brilliant performance for his country is also seen at club level – where he scored four goals – making a total of 14 goals scored plus three assists for both club and country in 2022.
This stellar performance earned him a spot in the IFFHS men’s CAF team of 2022. The former FC Porto forward joins current African Player of the year Sadio Mane and Egyptian King Mohammed Salah to complete the attack.
The midfield consists of Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus and Morocco duo Sofyan Amrabat, and Azzedine Oumahi.
Kalidou Koulibali of Senegal, Achraf Hakimi, Ali Maaloul and Romain Saiss complete the defence – while Yassine Bounou is in goal.
