The 2022 National Interpools finally kicked off on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Limbe Centenary Stadium.
The first game saw the champions of the South West Region Victoria United having an easy 5-1 win over Ajax of Maroua in the pool B opener, while Real De Bertoua stunned FC Ebolowa 4-0 in the second game.
In Pool A, it was a highly contested group as the National FC of Garoua and Olympique De Meinganga recorded the first draw of the playoffs after a four goals thriller, while West Regional representative, Nkilefac Gislin Victor Academy(NGV) beat Nkufo FC of Yaounde 2-1.
Stats and facts of Matchday one
- Aigle Royal De Moungo and Hilltop Strikers were on stand-by on match day one.
- The Interpool opener between Victoria United and Ajax FC recorded six goals – more than the three goals recorded in the opener of last season between Ecole Football de Brasserie and Les Amis of Ngaoundere.

- Alex Boris of NGV has scored the fastest goal of the competition so far in 1 minute, 43 seconds in the game between NGV and Nkufo FC.
