Cameroon’s volleyball squads have departed for the Zone 4 Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Championships in Congo.
The Indomitable Lions and Lionesses, along with their coaching staff and administrators, left the country yesterday with confidence. The indoor volleyball competitions kick off this Saturday in Brazzaville, whilst the beach volleyball action shifts to Kintele on 3rd October.
The Men’s Squad: A Blend of Experience and Fresh Talent
The men’s volleyball team, dubbed the Indomitable Lions, boasts a 14-strong roster that reads like a who’s who of Cameroonian volleyball. Leading the charge are seasoned campaigners Abba Gambo from Cameroun Sport and Adji Mahamat representing PAD, both of whom will also pair up for the beach volleyball doubles competition.

PAD has emerged as the dominant force in Cameroonian volleyball, contributing six players to the national setup. Meanwhile, Litto Team and Cameroun Sport have each provided four players, underlining the competitive nature of the domestic league.
For the beach volleyball competition, two formidable pairs will represent Cameroon: Joseph Mbongue partnering with Lamine Nsangou, and the experienced duo of Abba Gambo and Adji Mahamat.
The technical staff, led by Abbas Malloum alongside Mbang William Kie and Jean Yves, will be hoping their preparation pays dividends on the courts of Brazaville and Kintele.
Women’s Team: The Lionesses Ready to Reign
The women’s squad, known as the Indomitable Lionesses, features 13 players representing a healthy mix of clubs across the country. Mayo Kani has contributed three players to the national cause, whilst Nyong et Kelle and Litto Team have each provided four representatives.

The women’s beach volleyball campaign will see two pairs taking to the sand: Dang Chantal teaming up with Nzali Bamba, while Amantchang Irina partners with Ngo Oum Monique.
The women’s technical team, headed by Luis Fernando Domingos and supported by Asta Ngamkoua, Juliette Sogue, Fabrice Dena, Balafar Ngakam, and Athéna, brings a wealth of international experience to the setup.
With the delegation having expressed confidence before departure, all eyes will be on whether the Indomitable Lions and Lionesses can translate their current form onto the sub-regional stage.
